When you need to keep track of comrades who may get separated, status allows you to mentally monitor their relative positions and general condition. You are aware of the direction and distance to each target. Additionally, for each target, you are aware of what conditions it has and whether or not it is at its maximum HP. Once the spell has been cast, the distance between you and the targets does not affect the spell.
